Trout Lake Guide Service | Lonnie Johnson
Lonnie was self employed as a milking equipment dealer in Central Minnesota. He is a retired volunteer fire fighter and first responder. Fishing has always been his passion. In 2006, the family moved permanently to Lake Vermilion. Trout Lake, located 2 miles from their home, is a scenic 7,641 acre BWCA lake. Trout Lake, accessible through Lake Vermilion and a motorized portage, offers premier lake trout fishing.
Lonnie specializes in down rigger fishing for lake trout with his 16 ft. fully equipped Alumacraft with a 25 hp E-Tec motor. Fishing for walleye, bass, and northern pike is also available on beautiful Trout Lake. All equipment and bait is provided and shore lunch is available upon request. Camping in Trout Lake, with assistance from Lonnie, is always an option. He can pick you up at the Moccasin Point public access. May through October Lonnie can be found at the portage or fishing in Trout Lake.
Lonnie is past Chairman of the Lake Vermilion Guides League. Through the USFS he has his Outfitter Guide License and is the contractor for the portage from Lake Vermilion to Trout Lake.
