Vermilion Guide Service | Doug Knoer
Doug Knoer has lived in Northern Minnesota his whole life. Born and raised in Bemidji, he has loved fishing from the first time he went out for bluegills at six years old. Doug graduated from Bemidji State College in 1976. He came to Cook, fell in love with Lake Vermilion, where he stayed and raised a wonderful family. He has been a full time guide on Lake Vermilion for over 30 years, along with a career in real estate sales and appraisal. Doug was honored to guide for Governor Pawlenty in the 2005 “Governors Opener”.
“I’m very blessed to be able to spend my summers on this beautiful lake. I’ve seen some changes on the lake, but Vermilion rates as a top walleye lake and the great thing about Vermilion is that it’s a multiple species lake, so you can go after panfish, bass, northern and muskies when the walleyes are slow”. Doug loves to share his passion for Vermilion and it’s fishing with others.
